|| \\ =====Plot===== //Saint Dragon// is an arcade game ( coin-op ) released by Jaleco in 1989. It looks a lot like Dragon Breed of the same year. It has been then ported by The Sales Curve in 1990 for the Amiga and Atari ST and other home computers and systems of that time. The galaxy is threatened by an evil race of cyborgs. Half animal, half machine, the cyborgs have already conquered most of the galaxy and now have their eyes focused on the last hope of the galaxy itself, "//Planet of the Golden Dragon//". A solitary mechanical dragon (the //Dragon Saint//), disappointed by the actions of its comrades, rebels and takes action to prevent their invasion on the Golden Dragon planet. \\ =====Gameplay===== //Saint Dragon// is a side-scrolling shooter, challenging and playable, consisting of 6 several levels. The tail of the mechanical dragon that the player controls is invulnerabile to enemy attacks and it damages any enemy that touches it. The head of the dragon is the "shuttle" of the game, and a direct hit from an enemy will cause the loss of a life. At various times in a level, bronze eggs appear and when they are struck, will release upgrades for weapons and speed. The game is provided with an overall medium difficulty level. \\ =====Technical Data===== ^**SAINT DRAGON**^^ |**Hardware**|Jaleco Mega System 1-A| |**Main CPU**|68000 (@ 12 Mhz)| |**Audio Processor**|68000 (@ 7 Mhz)| |**Chip Audio**|YM2151 (@ 3.5 Mhz), (2x) OKI6295 (@ 30.303 Khz)| |**Screen orientation**|Horizontal| |**Video Resolution**|256 x 224 pixels| |**Refresh**|60.00 Hz| |**Color palette**|1024| |**Players**|2| |**Controls**|Joystick a 8 direzioni| |**Buttons**|2| |**Levels**|6| \\ =====Peculiarities===== * Released in //March// 1989. * Produced by NMK. * The Kanji ideograms of the title (in romanj: '//Tenseiryuu//') properly define the title of the game. * //Pony Canyon / Scitron// released a limited edition soundtrack of this game (//Saint Dragon - PCCB-00003//) on 21/09/1989. \\ =====Staff===== ***Music composed by:** //Shizuyoshi Okamura// (//Sizzla//) e //Tecchan//. \\ =====Conversions===== ===Console:=== *NEC PC-Engine (1990) ===Computer:=== *Sinclair ZX Spectrum (1990) *Commodore C64 (1990) *Amstrad CPC (1990) *Commodore Amiga (1990) *Atari ST (1990) **Note:** Not considering the graphics and sound , the various conversions are identical. \\ ===== Video ===== ^**Saint Dragon**^ | | | //Saint Dragon gameplay.// | \\ =====PCB (Printed Circuit Board)===== || \\ =====Flyers===== || \\ =====Screenshots===== ||| ||| |||
